Another tallest building Burj Dubai is in the making now. It had just overtaken the Taipei 101 Tower and is rumoured to be of at least 160+ levels when duely completed in 2009. The quest to build the tallest building never cease. Is this a case of simply trying to achieve the infinite possibilities since the sky’s the limit? Does it mean that we will probably see taller buildings over 200+ levels in the next few centuries? I do wonder how they can get those construction materials up there?
What does it mean to have the tallest building in the country? A tourist attraction? The developer gets the credits? A country’s pride? Or simply, oh I am working in the world’s tallest building?!
I only hope that quality of work is not compromised in such quests. I guess at such high levels you’ll probably be able to catch the clouds and have an amazing overview of Dubai, though I’m not too sure if you could even see other structures from the peak.. The highest level I had been to was the Grand Hyatt in Shanghai at 80+ levels. It would be twice that level.
This is just another of my random views on what’s happening around the world. Dunno why I have been in such crazy moods lately. Haiz.

I bought this book when I was in PageOne yesterday. The book was written by Paul Arden, supposedly a famous person in the advertising realm. There’s only 127 pages which also consists of pictures that the author uses to illustrate his points and thoughts. I couldn’t put down the book once I started reading it. Even though his audience was targeted at pple in advertising, I felt that the mojority of his insights and values hold true for all people. His words really strike me at the heart since I’m going through a rough patch in my career now. I felt slightly motivated just by reading the book. It inspired me to think harder about what I want in life and how I was achieving it and the best part is that his advice was so simple but oh-so-true. Just to quote a few phrases which I like:
1. It’s not how good you are, it’s how good you want to be(Title of the book)
2. Give away everything you know and more will come back to you.
3. When it can’t be done, do it. If you don’t do it, it doesn’t exist.
4. If you can’t solve a problem, it’s because you’re playing by the rules.
5. Fail, fail again. Fail better.
6. Don’t be afraid to work with the best.
There’s a “Life’s Creative Circle” at the end of the book too. Pretty interesting..Apologies for the blurring of words. This was the bestmy scanner could do. Not too sure if I had infringed on any copyrights too. LEt me know if I did and I’ll take this pic off immediately.
